"Whoa, what do you mean by that? I thought my whole body was created by my DNA?"
Truth comes in many forms, it all depends on your perspective. You are NOT your DNA! More on this in a few. In this post we are going to explore our second of four key topics on health. This one is about: 2) Genetic mutations Have you ever wondered why there is such a radical increase in Alzheimer"s, Autism, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's, Chronic Fatigue, etc, just to name a few? Autism alone has increased 172% in the 1990's. Today at least one out of 150 children will develop Autism. Some experts project that by 2020, one in every 10 children will be affected. So many people go from doctor to doctor with no clear answers and no results. What is going on? The answer is not simple (In fact it is multi-factoral! ). Genetic mutations in certain metabolic pathways are one key part of the answer. Here is the story: At the end of World War II, the economy started to boom along with industry and agriculture. The downside of this was the tremendous increase in toxic chemicals that were introduced into the environment. This process has continued to this day! This increase in environmental toxicity has led to an increase of genetic mutations in certain key metabolic pathways. These mutations are passed on from generation to generation, accumulating more toxicity (and consequently more mutations) as they go. These genetic mutations affect the body's ability to detoxify the very toxins that are causing the problem, thereby leading to a "Catch 22" situation. Combine this with increasing mental and emotional stress, bacterial and viral loads and you can see why so many people are sick. It is also why so many traditional medical treatments are not working. In fact, many of these traditional medical approaches make the problem worse. The "same treatment for everybody" approach is breaking down. There is no "Magic Bullet". People need specific treatments that are unique to them based on their individual genetic mutations. This complex condition has been given a name, "chronic neurological inflammation". Understanding this helps us understand how so many different diseases (see list above) are all connected. So here is the recap: 1) We live in a highly toxic world. 2) This level of toxicity has altered the genetic structure of many people(mutations). 3) These genetic mutations affect the body's ability to eliminate the very toxins that are causing the mutations. ( Methylation pathways) 4) These mutations are cumulative and are passed on to the next generations. WOW, so what do we do? Remember at the beginning of this blog I said, " You are not a victim of your DNA?" What I mean by that is YOU can so something to correct these mutations, to change your overall health and wellness, and to ENJOY life. There is a Protocol developed by Dr Amy Yasko that specifically addresses these mutations in a comprehensive step by step manner. Check it out here: www.dramyyasko.com/ This is only one piece of the puzzle, but an important one. There is a whole new branch of science that is devoted to looking at the relationship between your environment, your DNA, and which genes express or not. This is called Epigenetics, and it is rocking our ideas of how things work. Bottom line is that your consciousness and what you think and believe can have a huge effect on you genes and how they express. So the bottom line is Do Not Give Up! There is help out there. Check out the link above and please reach out for help if you need it. We are here to help you sort your way through this complex maze. :) Yours in Health, Dr Rick Munn
